Planning your business
The planning phase involves turning the business blueprint into a springboard for launch. It can cover a whole host of issues, many of which it would be easy to defer until later but all of which, in our experience, will be better dealt with if they start being addressed now. This includes key matters like ownership, business and financial planning, systems and processes, or commercial questions like targetting markets and customers; whilst it is also important to think about the company's philosophy, values and culture - what will it feel like to work for us? How do we want people to feel? What are our hopes and aspirations for the business and what can we expect our employees to aspire to?
These issues are what business planning is all about. It is too easy to produce financial projections that are nothing more than an exercise in self delusion. Planning is about being able to anticipate what may lie ahead, good and bad, opportunity and threat, and preparing the fledgling business to be able to exploit the opportunities and cope with the challenges. Many entrepreneurial businesses have suffered pain and missed opportunity through lack of anticipation and foresight. We will help you to ground your decisions of today in the likely world of the future.
We have a clear view of how founders of a business can best prepare themselves for launch, although we know that every situation is different. We will guide you through the planning process, helping you to consider the practical, financial, operational, legal and emotional matters that will leave the business well prepared for launch. Most importantly, we will be ensuring that everything we do with you is geared up to creating the business that can achieve your aims.
At the end of this phase you will be personally set for launch and you will have a full and realistic business plan ready for implementation.
